The Blurst of Times Festival is just days from kicking off, with the first date landing this weekend in Brisbane. With a strong line up of Australian talent set to perform, Blurst is going around the Sydney and Melbourne for the first time to truly bring some exciting and ultimately party-ruined times to more live music fans. We've taken a look at the line up and have listed just some of the bands you can't be missing.
Many Things (London)
Fronted by former Yves Klein Blue frontman Michael Tomlinson, Blurst of Times is going to be hosting a homecoming long in the making with the recent addition of Many Things to the line up. Now based in London, Tomlinson has gone in a great, swelling pop direction, with singles "Chains" and "Dear One" being received especially warmly here in Australia. They've recently toured with the likes of The Polyphonic Spree and Panic! At the Disco, cultivating a strong fan base through Europe and now the US but now it's time for Australia to get introduced to a killer live show.
Orphans Orphans (Brisbane)
Brisbane's latest supergroup of sorts, Orphans Orphans, have made a strong impact since their debut this year. BIGSOUND treated them well and brought them to many more new ears, and they've recently launched their debut EP to popular shows in Melbourne and Sydney. Featuring members of The Jungle Giants, Moses Gun Collective, Last Dinosaurs, The Belligerents and Morning Harvey, the talent within this band is just ridiculous.

The Upskirts (Sydney)
Sydney's The Upskirts have made names for themselves as seasoned performers now, having done the international showcase dash at The Great Escape in the UK as well as club gigs in England last year. Pushing sonic boundaries and dabbling in texture and genre, the band continue to show promise with every release. They've just been announced to support The Drums in November and will be releasing their new single "Where" on October 24th.
Be sure to catch them at Blurst of Times Brisbane and Sydney!
Damn Terran (Melbourne)
Damn Terran have been one of our favourite Australian bands for many years now - they even played our 5th Birthday Party in Brisbane last year! - but sadly the group have announced they are calling it quits, making their Blurst of Times appearance their last live performance. It's sad news but talk about going out with a bang! Don't miss this rockin' live outfit.

Bob Log III (USA via Australia)
Do we really need a reason? OK, two words: Boob Scotch.

Babaganouj (Brisbane)
Fast becoming a favourite of ours here at the AU, Blurst goers at all shows will be lucky enough to get the chance to see Brisbane's up and coming band Babaganouj in action. There's a real classic feel to their music, while live they bring it in with a pile of energy. Don't miss them!
The Blurst of Times Festival - headlined at all shows by the always awesome DZ Deathrays with Hard-ons and Velociraptor, takes over Brightside and The Zoo in Brisbane on Saturday, October 18th, then heads to Seaworks in Melbourne on Sunday, October 19th, before travelling to Sydney the following weekend, Saturday the 25th of October at the Factory Theatre.
